The Canadian Wood Truss Association
The AWTFA feel that being affiliated with a National Organization such as the CWTA allow our membership to become better informed and benefit from projects that our local Association lack the resources to implement. Over the past year the CWTA have conducted an Atlantic Wage Survey among all truss fabricators which gave our membership some idea what the average salary scale is among all members. The CWTA have also started the process of getting truss fabricators interested in a Health & Safety Program and have circulated a Health & Safety manual to it’s members as a guide to further implement their own program. This is one area we feel all members should be concentrating on especially with the high costs of Workers Compensation premiums throughout the entire region. Other issues of the National body have touched upon are insurance rates, quality control and a Code of Standard Practice for all wood truss Manufactures.
Over the course of time our Association feel that this affiliation will get stronger and we would like to encourage all truss fabricators to become members of our Association to become better informed and educated about the issues facing your industry.
